Ann O’Brien Brings Extraordinary Experience to the Department
St. Paul—Minnesota Management & Budget Commissioner Jim Schowalter announced today a new acting MMB Assistant Commissioner for Human Resource Management by naming Ann O’Brien to the position.
O’Brien brings 35 years of state government human resource experience to the position. Most recently, she served as Human Resources Director at the Department of Public Safety. Prior to that position, she was the Human Resources Director at the Department of Finance and was a director in HR at the Department of Employee Relations and the Department of Corrections.
“Ann is uniquely qualified for this role having worked at several different agencies. We are excited to add her expertise, energy and strong commitment to improving state services to our team. We are extremely fortunate to have someone of her caliber willing to serve the state and its citizens in this position,” Schowalter said.
Assistant Commissioner Judy Plante previously held the position and retired in May.
